Bikes Owned: 5
Accessories: '99 Ducati Monster quarter fairing - a great fit and look for the Hawk, and good wind protection.
Modifications: '97 CBR 900 shock using that spring (I'm 130 lbs.).Race Tech gold valves and .80kg/mm straight rate springs in stock fork (polished lowers). Braided steel brake lines. Factory stage 1 jet kit with modified airbox and filter (unifilter foam). Supertrapp stainless headers with Vance & Hines SS2 aluminum can. Factory ignition advancer. Polished CBR clip-ons with low-rise mirrors and CBR footpegs.
Problems: None, other than set-up adjustments for the modifications. Could use a slightly larger fuel tank...and more time to ride.
Comments:
What a fabulous bike for a smaller guy like myself. Imagine , given the success of Suzuki's SV650, if Honda had done this bike right and continued to develop it. The whole world would be riding twins. Given the amazing advances in 600s, I'll buy an R6 Yamaha someday and pretend that it has adequate mid-range. The modifications I've done to this bike have completely transformed it's performance and handling and I would reccomend them highly. I've lost about 5 miles on a tank of gas because of the jetting changes, but I get there so much faster!

Comments:
Beautiful Honda Hawk. Excellent mechanical condition, nothing to fix, ready to ride! Great brakes and tires, new original chrome mirrors. New tail section, new paint. I purchased the bike in July 2003. Rode during the summer and loved every mile. Just built a new home and expenses ran over, need to sell the bike to pay down some debt. No dents or scratches, a few minor cosmetic flaws, nothing that a good buff job wouldn't take care of. I had the bike re-painted when I bought it because it was a sissy blue color. Rides and handles excellent. Two Brothers Racing exhaust, everything else is original to the best of my knowledge.

Accessories: F2 bars, Stainless front brake line, fork work, F2 Fork caps, TBR Left side Pipe and Oval Can, Jet Hot Ceramic Coating on pipes Second skin seat, Dynojet jet kit, K&N individual air filters, 900 RR Rear Shock With Hawk spring, Chain Roller, 520 Chain and sprokets, 2 teeth bigger on rear, Michilin Pilot Tires, Aluminum Pegs, custom Cheetah Racing Bodies RC51 Upper Fairing. Twin verticle headlights in ram air entry in fairing.
Modifications: As above, also I droped the tripple clamps down on the forks aproximately one half inch for a little quicker turn in, and better tracking in corners. Didn't seem to lose any cornering clearence, and I use all the tire. I did a little head work by Jeff Reel and a bit more compression and cams produced 68 HP. Had a bit of a problem working out the jetting for the best midrange. Had a hole at about 5500 where the dyno showed it to be rich. The K&NS helped as well as getting rid of the airbox.
Problems: None, beyond Florida being so flat, and having so many straight roads and dumb drivers.
Comments:
As we know, these bikes are great with a bit more power. I'm real happy with it at this stage of engine development and feel that I have lost no reliability as the changes have not been in the way of a major compression bump. This bike is very well sorted out now, with the current suspension changes. I've got a SuperHawk as well and have trouble deciding which I might ride on any Sunday. If there is to be a lot of highway riding I usually take the bigger one which now has 114 rear wheel HP.
For Sale: The Hawk is not for sale. I will sell all the stock parts as well as the second skin seat though.
